Well it is after hours so how about a little update before the long desired bedtime.
This is turning out to be quite a project, and seeing things that worry, concern, make me tell the welder to " GET READY YOU!! " are things like:
it seems that more rust falls out with every hammer blow, one big hole in the chassis , flathead slotted screws  ( wtf ?? I know it was the fifties.... ) ,crossmembers that are more than shot, gonna need all new mounts for suspension, and it goes on .....
BUT-
this leaves some nice canvas for what COULD be.
And that is what has been driving me.  One of the things, I want to learn more fabrication stuff like bodywork, using aluminum for body panels, wiring, patching shit, and all that goes with cars and 4x4's.And, more to me than that,  what could it be?

I have an idea, and I just don't think I will be all yappy about it.
I think it will be, or WILLY , really cool.

Well, if ya don't know my name is Erik and i like welding and stuff. I make bikes for a living, and I go under the name Peacock Groove.
While I love bikes, and almost all things about them, I have just been wanting to challenge myself with a project. Something different, cool, something "out there" ....

Well, I found it. A 1953 Willys Jeep CJ3B it is.  With a plow.A buddy had it sitting in his farm for a few years. I am not sure how long, but found out today that, well, long enough....
After getting it to the shop last Thursday the 19th of September, 2013, it was just a relief to get it off the trailer. People drive like shit, and even worse when you are hauling stuff out there. Give them truckers some room y'all.....

Well, today was the first day of work.  A little over 5 hours by me, and Beau and Aisha stopped by cause they like hot rods and bikes and junk like a lot. Beau ended up helping a little bit and he really like the sawzall.
Here are just a couple pics of how I got it, and the end tonight.
While I am not completely sure of what I am going to make this into, I do have an idea.
It's obtuse, and incredibly labor intensive, and will be pretty kick ass.
To quote my buddy Jeff:" All is fair in love and hot rods.".
Well, we will just see about that....
Hang in there, this may take a while.

Getting started....

Well.... here goes somethin'.....
